Brigadier Amit Bedi Inaugurates Automated Kerb Side Pump at Danapur Supply Depot, Bihar
Brigadier Amit Bedi, Station Commander of Danapur Cantonment, inaugurated the automation of the Kerb Side Pump (KSP) at Supply Depot Danapur on October 31, 2026, in a move aimed at modernising fuel management and logistics operations at the military installation.
The ceremony was attended by Mr Prateek Chatterjee, Chief General Manager (CGM) of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bihar State Office. The presence of IOCL officials alongside the military leadership reflected the joint effort behind the upgrade of the depot’s fuel-handling infrastructure.
The automation initiative is intended to improve operational efficiency, transparency and accountability in the dispensing and management of fuel at the supply depot. With the introduction of technology-based processes, the system is expected to make routine operations smoother, strengthen monitoring and reduce reliance on manual procedures.

The modernisation of the Kerb Side Pump also reflects the Indian Army’s increasing focus on integrating technology into logistics infrastructure to support operational readiness and ensure more effective resource management. Fuel supply systems are a critical part of military logistics, and upgrades of this kind are aimed at making those systems more reliable and easier to oversee.

The initiative also points to continued cooperation between the Indian Army and Indian Oil Corporation Limited in strengthening essential logistics facilities that support military establishments. The automated facility at Supply Depot Danapur is another step in building a more efficient, transparent and technology-enabled military logistics ecosystem.
