Army Chief Assesses Security and Technology Integration at Bathinda Military Station
Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi recently conducted a visit to the Bathinda Military Station to assess the security arrangements and operational prowess of the Chetak Corps. This military unit is stationed roughly 100 kilometers away from the Pakistan border.
During his inspection, General Dwivedi commended the Corps for their combat preparedness and the successful implementation of modern technologies like drones, artificial intelligence, and advanced surveillance systems to address emerging security threats.
The visit aligns with the Indian Army's Decade of Transformation initiative (2023–2032), which emphasizes indigenous defense advancements and technological innovations as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
General Dwivedi encouraged the troops to stay abreast of technological progressions and maintain constant operational alertness. He highlighted that future military conflicts will likely be shaped by artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and the necessity for rapid decision-making.
The Chetak Corps, named after the famed horse of Maharana Pratap, is renowned for its high mobility and expertise in maneuver warfare. Positioned in a strategically vital region, it is pivotal in ensuring regional stability and deterring cross-border threats.
