Anupama Pushkar Visits Special Needs Care Centres at Command Hospital Pune

Mrs Anupama Pushkar, Regional President of Southern Star AWWA, visited the Early Intervention Centre of the Department of Paediatrics and the ‘Shravan’ Speech Therapy Centre of the Department of ENT at Command Hospital (Southern Command) in Pune, where she met children with special needs, therapists and caregivers.

During the visit, Pushkar reviewed the specialised healthcare and therapeutic support being provided at the hospital for children who need early developmental assessment and intervention. She interacted with Children with Special Needs (CwSN), along with the professionals and caregivers working with them, and gained first-hand insight into the services being extended through the two centres.

The Early Intervention Centre is focused on detecting developmental concerns at an early stage and ensuring that children receive appropriate support without delay. The ‘Shravan’ Speech Therapy Centre, meanwhile, provides speech and communication therapy to children, especially those facing hearing-related difficulties.

As part of her interaction with the children, Pushkar presented gift hampers to them as a gesture of encouragement and affection. She also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the medical teams, therapists and caregivers involved in early screening, timely intervention and speech support.

The visit reflected Southern Star AWWA’s focus on child-centric healthcare and compassionate assistance for children and their families. The organisation said the initiative was in line with its broader commitment to the holistic development of children, with the aim of helping every child realise their potential with dignity, confidence and hope.
