Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry Reviews Operational Readiness at Air Force Station Gorakhpur

Air Marshal Tarun Chaudhry, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Air Command, visited Air Force Station Gorakhpur from August 11 to 13, 2026, to assess the station’s operational preparedness and review ongoing efforts to build capability. He was accompanied by Mrs Savita Chaudhry, President of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), who separately reviewed welfare initiatives at the station.

The three-day visit focused on the station’s readiness to carry out its assigned operational responsibilities and sustain a high level of combat preparedness. Air Marshal Chaudhry examined the station’s infrastructure and training facilities, taking stock of the systems and resources that support day-to-day operations and mission readiness.

During his interactions at the station, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief met Air Warriors, Non-Combatants (Enrolled) and defence civilians posted there. He praised their morale, professionalism, dedication and commitment to the Indian Air Force, noting the role of personnel at every level in sustaining operational effectiveness.

As part of the visit, Air Marshal Chaudhry also took part in air operations by flying the Jaguar aircraft. The sortie gave him direct exposure to the station’s flying activities and allowed him to assess the preparedness and effectiveness of the personnel involved in operational flying.

The visit placed emphasis on the importance of continuous training, professional excellence and sustained operational readiness across the station. Air Marshal Chaudhry’s engagement with personnel also reflected the Indian Air Force’s focus on teamwork and commitment in meeting operational requirements.

Mrs Savita Chaudhry reviewed welfare-related initiatives being implemented at Air Force Station Gorakhpur and interacted with the Sanginis. She appreciated their contribution to the welfare and overall functioning of the Air Force community.

Overall, the Central Air Command leadership’s visit highlighted the Indian Air Force’s continuing focus on operational preparedness, infrastructure development, training standards and welfare support, alongside efforts to maintain a high state of readiness at one of its key stations.
