3 Tesla MRI Facility Unveiled at Pune’s Armed Forces Medical College by Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin

On May 19, 2026, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, the Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), officially opened a cutting-edge 3 Tesla MRI facility at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune.

This new facility represents a major step forward in the medical education, diagnostic, and healthcare infrastructure of the Armed Forces Medical Services.

During her visit, the DGAFMS examined the advanced imaging centre and was informed about its modern diagnostic capabilities, which aim to enhance imaging precision, support clinical decisions, and improve patient-centered healthcare across the Pune medical complex.

Officials pointed out that the incorporation of this state-of-the-art MRI technology will enhance specialised diagnostics, facilitate better treatment planning, and bolster advanced medical training and research within AFMS institutions.
