Major General Sachin Malik Reviews IMA Parade, Motivates Cadets to Uphold Military Values

In anticipation of the forthcoming Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), an impressive parade was conducted under the watchful eye of Major General Sachin Malik, YSM, VSM, the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of the Academy. The event, attended by enthusiastic schoolchildren and residents of Dehradun, showcased the rigorous discipline and professionalism of the Officer Cadets in training.

The parade highlighted the military bearing of the cadets at the esteemed academy, which has a rich history of producing military leaders for the Indian Army.

Following the parade, Major General Malik addressed the cadets, offering a motivational speech that urged them to adhere to the values and traditions of the Indian Army as they prepare for their roles as commissioned officers.

He emphasized the cadets' future role as the “Shield and Sword of the Nation”, underscoring their duty to protect India's sovereignty and to exemplify the highest standards of military leadership.

Furthermore, the General Officer reminded the cadets of the enduring principles of “Naam, Namak and Nishan”—honour, loyalty, and regimental spirit—that are foundational to service in the Indian Army.

The event attracted a large crowd of schoolchildren and local residents, who observed the precision drills and military traditions that are integral to life at the Indian Military Academy. Their presence contributed to the celebratory spirit and offered young spectators a glimpse into the world of military service and leadership.

This parade is part of the lead-up to the Spring Term 2026 Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy, where Officer Cadets will take the historic Antim Pag, marking the beginning of their journey as commissioned officers in the Indian Army.

Major General Malik's address was a poignant reminder of the values, courage, and sense of duty that are expected from the next generation of military leaders as they prepare to serve the nation with honour and distinction.
